I signed up a couple of months ago, to take part in a quilt swap and this is the little quilt that I have created to send off across the seas.
One of the requirements of the swap was to keep it monochromatic -- I thought that would be easy! And I thought it would be even easier because the partner assigned to me seems to like the same colours and things that I do. I have LOTS of green in my stash. Of course the first thought was something flowery and pretty, which I did -- but it was UGLEEE... so I scrapped it, it was so UGLEEE that I can't even show it as a failure! So start again. I was picking through a drawer where I had odd bits of collected specialty prints and out popped a piece that has brown and green quilt shops -- like so many special fabric bits, it screamed out "ME, PICK ME!" and so I did. So the less that a fat eighth that has been in that drawer for at least 15 years is wandering it's way via extremely slow Canada Post to one of the Countries across the world from me. I do hope my partner recipient likes the piece and finds a place to hang or use it...
